Gender-Based Violence Against People with Disabilities (PWDs)

People with disabilities (PWDs), particularly women and girls, experience disproportionately high rates of gender-based violence (GBV) compared to the non-disabled population. This violence can take many forms, including:
Healthcare for PWDs:

Physical violence: hitting, slapping, kicking, sexual assault

Awareness and training: threats, insults, belittlement, isolation

Emotional abuse: threats, insults, belittlement, isolation

Sexual violence: rape, unwanted sexual touching, exploitation

Economic abuse: controlling access to money, resources, or benefits
